Care Visions was founded in 1998 with the opening of a small children’s home. Since then, we have turned our aspirations into a reality and are now the largest independent provider of residential care for children and young people with a leading Fostering Agency in Scotland. Our award-winning Why Not? Initiative for care leavers has now transformed into a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and is an important part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility.
We know what we are doing, and we do it well
For the past 7 years, the Care Visions Healthy Ageing division has dedicated our research to finding new and innovative ways to assist older people, including those living with dementia. We have offices in both London and Beijing. Our evidence-based approach to using non-pharmacological therapies aims to help those with dementia lead independent and wholesome lives to the best of their abilities.
We have 3 key goals:
- To deliver highly impactful services to support families living with dementia.
- To apply our systematic, proven method to understand the needs of the caregiver and the person living with dementia.
- To provide the best quality of life using non-pharmacological approaches for the ageing population.
Too little attention has been paid to developing effective models that lead to quality outcomes for those who face social and psychological challenges. We’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading organisations in therapies for dementia and continue to advocate the benefits of effective non-pharmacological intervention for dementia.
We have developed a therapeutic model that sees us take a person-centred approach to understand each individual’s needs and wants. We are able to get to know the person living with dementia on a deeper level so that we can tailor individualised therapy programs to suit them. We employ a variety of proven tools and strategies to assist people with dementia and their caregivers in the management of their day-to-day lives.
Our personal online assessments and dementia therapy programs allow a person with dementia to benefit from our evidence-based therapies in a familiar environment. With a highly personalised program in place and a strong support system, we aim to manage dementia symptoms effectively and ensure the person feels safe, valued and independent – all within the comfort of their own home.
